Had a nightmare last night.
I was in a large house, searching for...someone. they weren't there - but i brought something back with me instead.
My mother, possessed, clinging to me in the fetal position, hands gnarled and warped and panting like an animal in pain.
I have to pull her off of me - I need to shut the door, someone is coming down the hall, someone is going to hurt us - and when I turn around, my previously feeble mother jumps at me, with the face of a white dog.
Shortly after waking up from said nightmare, Big Stripe also started crying in his sleep.
Question: What did that dream mean?
Tarot: Eight of Wands (reversed), The Tower (reversed), Two of Pentacles
Spindlewheel: Poppy Flute, Fountain, Siren
First impression: Pause before responding. Double-check what was actually said versus what your fear filled in. Avoid dramatic decisions, dramatic texts, dramatic conclusions, and dramatic self-blame. Keep your day boring on purpose. Do the next stabilizing thing. Let delay be a protective wall instead of interpreting it as punishment.
Later reflection: The day was especially boring and slow; more so than most.
