What old vow am I still obeying because I was taught that leaving it would make me cruel?

The vow. The old invisible thread between mother and daughter. Mother-monster, daughter-monster. The kind of bond nobody asks you to sign because they expect your blood to do it for you.

Are we not both monsters in our own ways?

I want to escape her shadow. I want to leave her behind where I might only see her through glass, small and distant and finally unable to reach the soft part of me.

But there are people still with her. People I cannot cut loose without feeling the knife pass through my own ribs first.

That is the trap in the vow. It does not say stay because you are loved. It says stay because leaving would make you cruel.

I am trying to learn the difference between a bond and a leash.

Question: What do I need to know today?

Tarot: Three of Swords reversed, Page of Pentacles, Six of Swords

Spindlewheel: Fortune, Oathbound, Glacier

First impression: I am touching a heart-wound tied to old obligation, family patterns, or inherited emotional contracts. I am not fully free of it yet, but freedom is not going to come through one dramatic escape. It comes through study, small choices, new bonds, and admitting that what I see on the surface is only part of the structure beneath it.

Later reflection: Return later and write what actually happened.
