Today I asked about priestesshood again, and I think something in me expected the deck to hand me another door made of teeth.
It did not.
King of Cups. Ace of Pentacles. Nine of Cups.
Three cards, and not one sword. Not one warning. Not one little clause from the underworld written in microscopic font. Just emotional mastery, a tangible beginning, and the wish card sitting there like it had been waiting for me to stop flinching long enough to see it.
I keep thinking about how strange it is to ask a question that large while living inside the pre-move wreckage. Most of my tools are packed. The apartment is more box than home. Everything is temporary. The tape is somewhere. The candles are somewhere else. My brain is mostly static and moving logistics and the feeling that if I forget one practical thing, the whole world will somehow tilt off its nail.
And still, the answer came through clean.
The King of Cups did not feel like a distant ideal today. It felt like Hekate pointing to the work already done. The river. The shadow. The buried self. The dreams. The nights where I have had to sit inside feeling instead of clawing my way out of it. Not because I have become untouched by the dark, but because I have learned that the dark does not automatically get to swallow me.
The Ace of Pentacles felt like the seed in my hand.
Not a crown. Not a title delivered by thunder. Something smaller and more dangerous because it can actually be planted. A practice with dirt under its nails. A shelf. A jar. A key. A candle. A room in the new apartment where devotion is not just an emergency flare, but a living thing with a place to stand.
The Nine of Cups felt like permission to want it.
That was the part that made my chest go weird. Not because I do not want the path, but because wanting something sacred this openly feels like walking into bright light after years of training myself to become small. Wanting priestesshood. Wanting Hekate. Wanting the work. Wanting the self that is no longer hidden behind survival tricks and agreeable masks and please-do-not-look-too-closely fog.
Wanting it did not feel greedy.
It felt true.
Later in the evening, around 7:45 or 8:00, I could not leave it as only a reading.
That has become a pattern, apparently. The cards open the gate, and then my body wants to walk through it before my fear can organize a committee meeting. June 5th had the river. Tonight had a plain candle and my strophalos pendant, which had been charged in Litha sunlight three days ago and still felt heavy in that good, settled way. No proper altar. No full ritual setup. No theatrical arrangement of tools. Just a candle, the pendant, and my voice.
Which, honestly, may have been the point.
I lit the candle and spoke out loud. Not whispered. Not tucked behind my teeth. Not kept safely inside where no one could hear me wanting something. I addressed Hekate by her names, and the words came through before I could pre-plan them into something prettier or safer.
Hekate Propolos. Sophodidáskalos. Anassa. Ekdotis.
She Who Leads the Way. Teacher of Wisdom. Queen. Bestower.
Then the Latin came through:
Semitam tuam in lumine tuo sequi volo. Quaeso, permitte mihi hoc facere; duc me; fac ut una fiam tamquam sacerdos.
I want to follow your path in your light. I ask, allow me to do this. Lead me. Make it so that I become one, as a priestess.
I cried, but not from sadness.
It felt like recognition. Like my body caught up with the words a second after my mouth had already opened the door. Warmth moved through me, heavy and full and settled. The same kind of warmth the strophalos carried after Litha. I felt activated, which is a ridiculous word until it is the only accurate one.
The biggest part was not even the candle.
It was the volume.
Speaking at full voice felt like a spell against the old wound. The one that says being seen costs everything. The one that says hide the true self, hide the hunger, hide the magic, hide the wanting, hide the part of you that knows. Tonight I did not hide it. I said the thing into the room and let the room hear me.
Then I asked what she thought of what I had just done.
The Sun.
Of course it was The Sun. Of course the goddess of thresholds, torches, night roads, dogs, keys, and shadow answered a declaration against self-concealment with the brightest card in the deck. Not a lantern hidden under a cloak. Not a candle cupped from the wind. The Sun.
Be visible.
Be seen.
Step into the light and stop confusing hiding with safety.
The sky matched it too. Sunny and clear, warm without the heavy wet blanket feeling. A waxing gibbous moon growing toward fullness, not there yet, but visibly becoming. That feels right. The vow is spoken, but the shape is still filling in. The seed is accepted, but it has not fully broken the surface. The full moon is coming. The new threshold is coming. The apartment is coming. The path is coming closer by the day.
I keep coming back to the arc:
King of Cups: I can hold the water.
Ace of Pentacles: I can take the seed.
Nine of Cups: I am allowed to want the fulfillment.
The declaration: I accept the path with my voice.
The Sun: do not hide.
This is three days before the move. Three days before the door changes. Three days before the new apartment becomes the next temple, the next threshold, the next place where I have to decide what follows me and what gets left outside.
Tonight did not feel like the full initiation.
It felt like the first spoken yes.
Not whispered. Not theoretical. Not waiting for perfect tools or perfect timing or a version of me who is less messy, less nervous, less human.
Just me, the candle, the strophalos, Whisp, Hekate, and the sentence finally becoming sound.
I am elated.
I am seen.
I think the threshold heard me.

For The First Spoken Yes
I do not wait for perfect tools.
I do not wait for perfect courage.
I do not wait until I am easier to witness.
The cup is steady.
The seed is accepted.
The wish is allowed.
The candle hears me.
The threshold opens.
Hekate Propolos, lead me.
Hekate Sophodidáskalos, teach me.
Hekate Anassa, crown the road with truth.
Hekate Ekdotis, place the gift in my hands and make me brave enough to carry it.
